I have a new CX-5 that's pulling to the left. This is my 3rd CX-5 and I do know how those drive.

Mine, current one, is definitely off.

I went to the dealer and they did center the steering wheel and did alignment, at least that's what they told me.

The car is still off and drives like crap to the point that it is dangerous on the highway, in my opinion.

The dealer's tech hasn't driven it on the highway yet and I have hard time to convince them to do so.

What can I do? Complain to corporate Mazda? If I did that, this would probably weaken my ties with this dealer for all future maintenance/repairs.

The car has 2K miles and 'NO' I have not hit a major pothole yet.

What to do ???

It's new. Take it back and refuse to accept it until it drives right. Call corporate if you have to. This is a new car. It should not have these issues and you don't have to accept their inability to fix it.

Seriously doubt your cross caster or camber would be that far off on a new car. If it was they hopefully probably would have noticed the first time it was in for alignment. Try swapping the front tires side to side and see what changes. Sounds more likely to be a defective tire to me if they even half way paid attention when they checked the alignment.

why are you on the 3rd CX5.. what happened to the other 2...

If its pulling, have the tech go on a ride or service advisor.. but they should be able to check on it. Otherwise call corp.. tehy are pretty responsive.. helps to have video and stuff.

All my new cars that I've bought (except my first car, because I didn't know anything about car at the time), all had to get alignment/center the steering wheel done on them, and some of them had to get it done twice to finally get it fixed. My wife's 2012 Acura RDX actually will still slightly drift to the left if I set the steering wheel dead center even after the dealer did an alignment, since I don't drive it that much and my wife is not as anal as me, so I haven't taken it back to get it fixed yet.

I was told this has to do with how the roads are engineered, the road is not totally flat, they call it the road crown or slope to allow for rain run-off. most vehicles are designed to compensate for a slight amount of road crown, your car alignment might be in spec, but maybe the designed compensation for the road crown is too much, your car will always drift. So make sure the person that does the alignment know what he is doing, alignment is an art.

here is a link that can explain it better than I can:

It's my 2nd CX-5. Traded in '13 Sport MT for '14 Touring. Had to get AT due to my traffic commute and the new engine is actually a night and day difference. I still get over 30MPG easily.

Wifey liked my touring so much that we traded our Odyssey for 3rd CX-5 AWD. Wife's car is fine and she is happy too. She gets 28MPG compared to 19MPG with the van.

I did drive with tech and he tried to "convince" me that "Mazdas have sensitive steering and it adjusts to the crown of the road." Which is a bunch of BS of course. I can compare it to other 2 CX-5s and know the huge difference.

I'm going to leave the car with them so they will drive in on the highway.

That explanation the dealer gave you might have held water if the car was drifting to the right, or following the crown of the road, but to the left, or against the crown of the road.....not likely the road causing it.
