to import a new v34 skyline gt-r v-spec ii costs a shy bit under 100,000
>>

Yikes. You could get a Lotus or an NSX for that...I mean the Skyline is a cool car and all, but not 100k cool, maybe 45-55k.

<< "Toyo Tires", neon lights = rice

and this car isn't made specifically for dragging...
its for circuits (and krazy ini. D style)

us japs don't care about 1/4 mile times
nor do we care much about top speed

o well just my opinion

edit: i would take the car if it was offered for free then strip the unnecessary parts. ez.
edit2: and u ppl just don't know what this car can do...(other than go in a straight line)
>>

Dude, do you know anything? I mean seriously, are you just pulling this out of ur a$$? If Japanese tuners don't care about dragging then what the heck do you call the 1000HP Veilside Skyline? Or the Blitz Skyline? If Japanese tuners don't care about top speed, then why did Jun Auto bring a Supra to run at Bonneville?

Anyways.......that car is pretty nice except for the stickers and neon. And only a sreet car like that could get away with having a wing like that. 😛

the skyline is hella awesome
what i call a beautiful car!
over the summer, i saw someone drive one, and my jaws just dropped...awesome car

EXACTLY! The Skyline is such a sweet car, but those numebrs can be reached for alot, ALOT less.....Its called RX-7 🙂 Banzai Edition I might add, those'll SMOKE the SKyline. Buy a 3rd Gen RX-7 (around 15k, 20k for super clean) and do another 20 to 30 k in race upgrades....And get this

Can we say "Bye Skyline" 😉

Forgot to mention, thats Pettit's top level modification. They do one thats alot more toned down (Still smokin though) that actually pulls more G's....1.5 to be exact, and is about a second or second and a half slower, which would put it just a hair slower then the Skyline, and at 1.5 G's, it'll stick through corners petter then a Porsche.

Enjoy!

Yeah, if he were merely into performance, he spent way too much money for the performance that car delivers. He only traps 119mph and he's already upgraded the turbo's. But that's the catch. I'm only guessing here, but I think he built and tuned this car to be svelte, not simply fast. Why do I think this? PS2, lcd, camcorder, subs, stereo, amps, etc. If he were in it merely for performance, he could drop all that weight and probably tune his car for more high-end hp (he's making max hp at 1500rpm shy of redline). Overall, it's a nice car though.

OH GOD MY PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE this car....this will be the only reason i see TFATF 2.

I just can't...stop ....staring!!!!!

Is there something wrong with that RX link or with my head?
I thought the RX ran a 1.3L Rotary...that site says it's an I6...

Huh?

And is this car seriously in the fast and the furious 2? I thought that was just a sick joke by the guy who started the thread...

Don't they brag about their "10 second" cars in the F&F? At 11.2 wouldn't this be dragging it's heels a bit?

<< No fool, this is the leetest car evar! 31337 >>

Yeah, but that car doesn't have the superfulous wing and stickers so it's physically imposible for it to be faster. Duh. 😉

Guys, don't fail to take these points into consideration:

1) Stickers - he was featured in an auto tuner magazine, and like most magazines they do tend to *want* you to put stickers on. Additionally, if he raced or auto-x'd professionally chances are those are the sponsor stickers.
2) Price - That's the price if it were to be imported and made legal for US road use. In Japan the Skyline would cost roughly the same an an Infinity would here in the US.
3) Sleeper? Now what kind of car enthusiast in their right mind would think a Skyline is a sleeper to begin with?
4) 80+ ponies? You must be kidding right? If you're a real car enthusiast you should very well know that using race gas is best for cars of this caliber. Sure it's 80+ ponies from stock on regular gas. But at 500+ HP with race gas... you can't even gain that much horsepower with 98% of the cars in the market.

Just my 2 1/2 cents.

SWEET. Now all we need is a Subaru Impreza WRX STi and LanEvo VII to complement it in the movie. Wouldn't it be cool if someone came out with a Rally inspired movie???

<< 3) Sleeper? Now what kind of car enthusiast in their right mind would think a Skyline is a sleeper to begin with? >>

Yep, this definition has gone way south,

Guy for STARTERS a sleeper begins with a vehicle that isn't fast in the 1st place... a Mustang GT with anything aftermarket is not a sleeper.

Not to brag but my truck is the definition of a "Sleeper" it's a 4x4 Extended cab with a fuggin Tow package on it that runs just under the times of a Stock 2001 Lightning. All this and it's not much louder then stock, and the only appearance thing done to it is my Wheels and Tires (16" Weld Typhoons with some 285/70 Yokahama's on it) Basically it looks like the average 4x4 ex-cab with some nice wheels and tires that are still 4x4 ready which is the main function... it's not my fault the Blower I have has the main function for Towing as it produces boost of idle(and is silent I might add, unlike a centrifical or a Wastegate off a turbo), but somehow 560lbs of torque makes that 5300lb truck move kinda fast.

Putting performace mods on a performace vehicle is not a Sleeper..

<< Putting performace mods on a performace vehicle is not a Sleeper.. >>

or to put it in another way, putting your engine in a Geo Metro makes the Metro a sleeper 😀

Although I don't have any proof, I could share to you what I think. The RX7 from that link most likely uses the Japan-only 3 rotor 2.0L rotary as opposed to the US 2 rotor 1.3L rotary.

As for the I6, I've heard (not trying to pass as fact) that one rotor of a wankel acts as two cylinders of an otto-cycle engine since the intake and exhaust cycles can take place at the same time.

Not really. Would you like to see a movie like Driven with rally cars? I'll pass.

The R34 is the porkiest of the Skyline GT-Rs. There are plenty of faster R32s and R33s rolling around Japan. Like stated above, this is about showbiz. Looks count. Hopefully they won't add anymore crap to the car.

I'm willing to bet its faster than the specs listed. Just keep in mind that a AWD powertrain (WRX, Evo VII, ect...) sucks for top end speed. Too much loss of power. Whoever tested it probably got a max of 2 or 3 runs in it and didn't beat it hard enough to get good times. Without all the crap listed, its probably a high 10 second car.

Anyways, thats my take on it. And Shockwave, I hope you like replacing Apex seals on your 3Rotor.

<< you guys are forgetting.... this is THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS.... by the time it's over with, you won't be able to see the black paint under all that new decals and stickers. It's not about building a sleeper car.. this is for PURE ENTERTAINMENT.. movies and shows and glitz and glamour.. so it's understandable. >>

Hehe, you know, I was reading about the post-F&F life of some of the real cars that were replicated in it. A lot of them ended up "unricing" them!! Stripping off all the funky graphics and stuff and just going with a clean paintjob. The R34 Nu spec (yes folks, it exists... tis the final edition of the RB26DETT SkylineGTR) is still my dream car purely for the rareness factor... but I think I'd rather be realistic and go with a Lancer EVO VII. The R34 may be porky but it's plenty fast... just as fast as those R32s and R33s. The Skyline wasn't exactly a lightweight like the EVOs and STis. If you wanna good example of a fast R34, check Signal Auto's version or HKS's TopSpeed rendition.

Oh, and F&F was braggin about 8sec cars... "in the eights"
