New camry, old pickup, rope + rush hour I95 = teh fail

alkemyst

No Lifer
I don't get why people still try to tow a car at 50-60mph with 5' of rope between them...I am doubly confused why they'd pick rush hour on I-95 (in the rain no less).

Well anyway...red neck and his beater truck were fine, poor chick sobbing on the road side with a new camry teepee'd to the windshield not so good.

I am willing to bet her Toyota had roadside built into the price already.

Freaking delayed traffic an hour.

🙁

??? so because someone else trolled (and I haven't trolled garage) you think it opens the doors to you.

Miss me?...and your posts makes little to no sense.

Must like the commoner's Mustang GT being a muscle car...lols.

Since you don't understand much about cars anyway this is what the ladies car looked like:

So imagine that car in perfect condition being towed with 5' of rope behind a pickup truck at 65mph when suddenly it has to come to an abrupt halt.

You get that.

Knowledge is power!

Still not seeing the teepee.

I take it she's never tried to stop a car without the engine running?

Really stupid idea though to tow that way at that time of day.

We witnessed a rope tow accident that we had to laugh at, after the dust settled and everybody was OK.
Chatting with a neighbor out in his yard, these kids pull up to the intersection in front of us to make a left. He sees a gap he can get through, and *forgets* he has a vehicle on a rope behind him.
He guns it and drags his buddy into a head on collision! This was all about 50 feet away from us.

So who's insurance gets blamed? The tower?

Don't know that, but I think both the drivers got ticketed. State patrol was out there a while sorting it out in FIL's driveway.
