CINCINNATI -- A car split after it crashed into a utility pole Monday afternoon.

The accident happened on Glenway Avenue near Rutledge Avenue in Price Hill.

The crash appeared to be very serious, but police say no one involved had to go to the hospital and the driver walked away with no major injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

It seems pretty clear in the pics that the car did not split in half, though...

Car was not in half, and the pole went through the passenger side leaving plenty of space to let the moron driver survive the crash.

Hmm... explain why exactly is the driver a moron? I dont see anything in the story giving a reason for the accident. If you read the article, the last line says "Police are still investigating the cause of the accident."

What if some parent was wheeling their baby around in a carriage and it got away from them and ventured into the street and the driver avoided the carriage but hit the pole? Is he a moron?

What if an elderly person wasnt paying attention and was jaywalking across the street, so the driver swerved to avoid them and hit the pole? Is he a moron?

What if your aunt had two testicles? Would she be your uncle?
I agree with you though, we shouldn't jump to judging the driver without more information.

On a side note, I hate jaywalkers who don't pay attention/don't care. When I jaywalk I make sure cars aren't coming and if they are I wait for them to pass or hustle to get my ass across the road. I see too many people who think that traffic should stop for them. The way I look at it, I'm not gonna pit my body against a ton+ car traveling ~30 mph or more.

I'd be willing to wager that 99%+ of accidents involving sports cars are caused by the driver of said sports car. It is a pretty safe judgement IMO.

Yes, he's a moron. If he was paying attention, he'd have plenty of time to avoid a jaywalker without swerving to the extent that would cause a collision with a telephone pole.

I don't think driving the speed limit on a street with pedestrians would do that kind of damage to a car in a collision.

Will it blend? That is the question.

Apparently, yes it will, if you use a pole instead of a Blendtec Blender.

That driver must of been Chuck Norris.

If the driver were Chuck Norris, he would have stopped time, got out of the car, and roundhouse-kicked the pole out of the way.

My point was that its wrong to immediately call the driver a moron and fault him/her for an accident when you have no details as to what happened and what caused the accident.
