So NOT butthurt here. I live in CA and this movement has zero chance. It's a joke. What I think is that fringe movements, whether it's CalExit or this, or similar movements in other states, do not deserve front page news status. News media, whether conservative or otherwise, shouldn't be showcasing political extremism, at least not to the extent of making it seem like a "big" story.

I go to a lot of sites. I've visited CNN and MSN as well today. I'll probably watch some Tonight with John Oliver episodes this week. I may even watch some Young Turk clips and Mark Dice vids. There is nothing wrong with going to various media outlets and seeing stories from different angles. Fox is not my sole news outlet, not by far.

I see no specific complaints as to how Sacramento is not following the state or US constitution but I would love to see some as I imagine they will be extremely funny.

lol I pretty much do that (bagging on where I live constantly), but I'm the idiot for staying here. Funny how my complaints die down during the "Florida winter" 😀

The split has to be agreed upon by both the state legislature and by Congress. Both West Virginia and Maine became states after splitting from Virginia and Massachusetts, respectively.

The action can't be unilateral. California doesn't have the authority to deem that "New California" is a new state on its own. Nor could there be two concurrent states within the same boundary.

As a quick check I looked at their methodology and shockingly enough quite a lot of it is bullshit. By their calculations a state with a higher tax rate is in an inherently worse fiscal condition than one with a lower tax rate, which makes no sense. In addition, it treats cash on hand as a good thing no matter how much of it you have, which anyone who has a basic knowledge of finances would say that past a certain point you're just letting resources sit idle and is actually a sign of mismanagement.

More red meat for the rubes like taj.

I gave two substantive criticisms of their methodology. By all means refute them! Alternatively, you can continue to be a 60 something year old man who thinks calling someone an 'fskihole' is a sick burn. lol.

I mean if you're going to rant, foam, and throw around childish insults then at least make them funny as I love a good insult or a good derogatory nickname! 'fskhole' is just lazy and stupid. DO BETTER.
 
Those areas that want to split off will be bankrupt because they will have to raise taxes insanely high or have zero money because most of the state tax dollars the less populated area of a state gets come from the highly populated areas of the state that have much higher taxes.
