ROFLMAO.

VorlonBlue, that's my favorite line on this deal -

Canon BJC-1000
Quality printing now made affordable!

And to think that it's only $45.95 @ Buy.Clearance.

What ludicrous savings!

Oh good point.
But it's SOLD OUT.
you can only pricematch AFTER you bought the item.
For me, i think it's just a joke from buy.com folks.
I believe no one actually see it in stock ever.

The links are all working now. It is definately a Proxima LB30+ Projector. I wonder if this would make a good projection television? In a dimly lit room, it should be able to project a huge picture on a screen or a white wall. My only concern is that some of these computer video projectors can be somewhat noisy because of their cooling fans.

Here is the Proxima Lightbook 30+ Datasheet

The proxima should make an okay quality TV projector... I have its little brother, the 640x480 model, and my roommmates and I watched the superbowl and some movies on it occasionally. It would throw a nice 70" screen, but the room had to be pretty dark. The only downside is that colors were a little off and there were noticable lines running vertically across the screen.. as if the LCD array looked kind of like a book of matches.

BUT - if you want a cheap, portable, decent, mid quality projector, this is probably a good deal.

flot the reason you were seeing vertical lines is because you were looking at a 640 x 480 res. pic @ 70" This would be the same as looking at the corner of your monitor under a telescope it would be well..... kinda grainy !

This unit should hot have that effect as bad as it puts out a better res. but if you were to watch this unit at say 100" it would look the same!

4asearch - no, in fact 640x480 was an acceptable resolution for a video image. The picture had literally 8-10 verticle lines running through it... as if some part of their manufacturing process for the LCDs involved assembling the grid from different parts. It was an odd effect. However, it was entirely watchable and you didn't really notice after a while. I mean, it was A-OK for setting up and watching movies on. NOT videophile quality by any stretch of the imagination though.

Also, this is the newer 800x600 model which yes will have a higher resolution, but I believe it is a bit dimmer as well. I *think* mine is a VP-800.

What he said is that projecting it at 70" was stupid. Try about 36".
