I saw these, I stupidly thought they were Butterfingers just shaped like a Reese. I was hungry and decided to try one.

They took a regular Reese and put small chunks of the inside of a Butterfinger in it. I like both on their own, but combine SHEIEIEIEIEIEIT. I'm not a huge sweets person but these are fucking awe inspiring.

it tastes nothing like a Reese's cup. They did not use Reese's peanut butter.

Nothing wrong with that though, as every bite tastes like you just won at life. Magical. 🙂

Yes, but it's got a mixture of the crunchy butterfinger and whatever they put that's smooth which reminds me of a Reeses. Maybe not taste wise, the texture's probably what threw my mind in that direction.

When we were watching the game and saw that commercial, pretty much all of us guys in the room were like... "gasp... oooOOOO do want!". It was a magical moment that even the women had to comment on. 😀

I don't go out of my way for candy or sweets, but I treat myself from time to time. I saw these at the checkout line and was like... yes, you get my money today.

So worth it.

In fact, I only ate one of the cups today. I get to re-experience the deliciousness at some random point tomorrow.

Comically enough, the smooth peanut butter is way smoother than Reese's. That's one of the things I do love about Reese's, and something that stands out with every single imitator - the Reese's PB is gritty and a little different from standard peanut butter, whereas most PB cups are very close to being a standard PB.

I didn't actually taste the stand-alone PB in these cups, but did like the random crunch moments that helps sell the: "oh yeah, this is butterfinger. nice!"

Reese's peanut butter is basically regular peanut butter + a bunch of sugar blended in. I don't care, it's still great 🙂

Now, I have to try one of those butterfinger cups.

These were really good.

Sounds awesome. I'll have to check the candy aisle at my local LD to see if we have them up here.

As far as Reese, the quality of them has fell off in recent years. I have pretty much given up on them as they fill me with disappoint. Although this might have to do with my change in taste as I usually just eat Toblerone or Lindt chocolates these days.

On the subject, I recently had this locally made Peanut Butter and Jelly chocolate bar that was very sweet, but so good at the same time.

If anything, the chocolate was probably changed.

I didn't notice a major change, but half the time growing up, I'd eat off the chocolate first and just have a blob of the peanut butter interior to polish off last. 😀

My taste did change in one way: I cannot even touch a standard bar of milk chocolate. Even Hershey's "special dark" is way too sweet and creamy for me. Lindt, Ghirardelli, etc - 70% cacao (or higher) or bust for me. 🙂

Anyone remember PB Max? OMG I loved those things. Probably a good thing they quit making them.

Probably my favorite chocolate candy ever, unless my mind plays tricks on me. I remember them having unaltered PB in them. I would KILL for one right now.

I think the quality of Hersey's is 95% related to the (lack of) quality in their distribution system. The number of melting cycled in the trucks, distribution centers, warehouses, warm vending machines, ruins the quality. And the amount of time spent in warehouses is probably more now since they have to make so many varietys.

I mention the quality, because the best Hersey's bar I've had in the past 15 years was a birth announcement "Here He Is" bar, that was shipped in an insulated bag with ice. (And the worst Hersey's bars are the ones in hot vending machines)

If Hersey's went to a 100% cold distribution like Coors, it would improve the quality a lot.
