Got this error message trying to install XP on a new HD in this build....anyone able to shed light? Not doing a RAID so shouldn't need drivers. Happens right when XP goes to setup to use the loaded files.
***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7CB663C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Athlon FX 60
2G OCZ PC4000EB Platinum Dual
DFI UT Expert
2WD Raptor 74g
Enermax 660
2 eVGA 7800GTX
SB Fatality
Plextor 716SA
CoolerMaster Stacker 830

Thanks for any help...I'm discouraged at the moment

I think it normally refers to storage error. Last time I got it IDE1 was bad and I had my boot drive hooked up to it. It probably means other things also, but this was the only time I have had it. Replaced the motherboard and all was good. So maybe the interface (IDE or Sata) isn't configured for this disk in bios.

Need more dedtails. Exactly what do you have hooked up while installing? Where in the install does it fail? etc

You still need to install SATA drivers in the beginning if your using a SATA drive. Also I would do an install with only one video card installed.

No need for drivers, but is RAID disabled in BIOS? MAybe the controller is still set as RAID and you try to use it just like normal controller,

WHat a nightmare day and a half...replaced the SATA Plextor with an IDE and that worked...Then XP couldn't see my HD...slipstreamed the SATA drivers into XP install disk and that eventually worked...then numerous page faults over and over. Fianlly I got a stick of memory in there that evetually worked...when I wasn't expecting it. Did one last repartition, not expecting it to work, and when I came back an hour later XP was asking for my *code*! SO now that I have XP in and updated...I have to put the hardware in and find a memory config that works. The SLI, then the soundcard..sheesh...this board may be great when working but quite frankly this is unacceptable to require this much work...and I'm not the only one...
