New Build won't post

So i'm putting together a computer for a friend and i can't seem to get it to post. It's a DFI nf ultraII-m2 mobo, and athlon x2 3600 processor a 450 smart power Power supply, geforce 7600GT and 2 sticks of Adata DDR2 RAM. I've tried getting it to post with just one stick of RAM in each of the DIMM slots to no avail. If I try to start it with no ram I get the continuous beep motherboard warning. What's my next step here? Am I right in thinking it highly unlikely that both sticks of RAM could be bad? Unfortunately i don't have spares to test known working RAM sticks and CPU's. I ordered it all through NEWEGG....Thanks.

I've tried it outside the case and still nothing, I also don't get any other error codes. Apparently there is some incompatibility between one revision of this MOBO and the brisbane core athlons, but i'm not sure if that would give me these symptoms.

a64 x2 3600 is a brisbane core from what i remember. you found a site that said brisbane had a compatibility issue with the dfi infinity ultra II-m2? is your mobo the revision that had the issue? if so that would be can easily be why you cant post.
