New build won't boot

I just put together my first build comprised of the following components.

Antec 900 case
evga 750i FTW motherboard
E8500 Core 2 Duo
evga 8800GT 512mb superclocked
4gb DDR2 1066
320gb WD caviar HDD
Corsair HX620 PSU
Zalman CNPS9700LED cpu cooler

I plugged everything in and powered it up. All fans/ LED lights come on, but there are a couple beeps and the monitor acts like it isn't recieving a signal. The post code on the mobo goes through a bunch of different numbers before finally settling on 7F. According to the mobo manual, 7F is POST error check-Check POST error and display them and ask for user intervention. I don't know what that means. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Also, let me know if there is more info you need.

something is not natively supported by the system currently with whatever revision the BIOS is.

one info I have located is "7F deals with user intervention, in your case BIOS still has the floppy drive set to enable so therefore trying to search for a floppy and cannot find one, and getting the 7F. If you have display you'll see that it says exactly this and you would need to press F1 to continue.

I've seen a couple of times for some odd reason that the Primary PCI-E needs to be reset."

also, I am seeing the only memory the motherboard supports and works with is DDR2 533/667/800.

Here is a little more info. The blue mobo light is on, along with a green and an orange right above it. Also, while the post code display is going through a bunch of numbers, it makes one beep at 26 before continuing. The manual says 26 is clock gen-Init onboard clock generator and sensor.

Also, I thought maybe my ram was the problem. The board supports up to 1066, which I have, but I believe it is native 800. I have heard of people using slower ram to get into the bios and change, and then installing the faster 1066. I tried this with some DDR2 4200 that I have, and got the the same result as before.

So..you can not even get to the BIOS page? or are you able to? If you can then what I do when I first have a build is to put in the OS disk..change my boot device to Cd/DVD drive..then restart. Then run everything needed...restart...go back into BIOS and change it to my HDD once everything is complete. Otherwise..maybe you need to check some connections..make sure everything internally is in the slots correctly.. etc.

the ram you tried may not be compatible, you have to make sure before just using parts that are or are not compatible.

I tried putting in an old 6800 in place of the 8800gt. I was able to get video and access the bios. My 8800gt works fine in my old comp. Why would it not work in the new one?

While I had video with the 6800, I attempted to install Vista Ultimate 64. I got three bsod, but each time I was able to get a little farther. It said to check that all hardware/ software was installed properly. I made sure everything was properly seated. I'm not sure what else to look for.

Well, regardless of what we can see at the Kingston site, the actual 750i box says up to 1066.

well, no other dependable memory manufacturer show anything above DDR2-800. and I trust the makers of ram to be better at knowing what their ram will or won't work in. I'd suggest you get some compatible DDR2-800 ram and retest and possibly reflash the bios to the latest revision and then try and see if your DDR2-1066 works.

I did get past this problem, and it wasn't the ram. I tried installing my old videocard, and that gave me video. So, I can now access the bios. Now I have to figure out why my new card works in the old comp, but not the new one.
