anyways on to the problem, when i start up i get this really weird text thats only on sceen very shortly then the epox nforce4 screen comes up strange startup for a while then this screen comes upnext screen. strange startup i then press F1 and it continues on to this page next screen i then wait a little bit and the windows screen loads and then windows. now i installed all the drivers from the epox boxed cd and also for my vid card. i can watch media ok. then i tryed playing hl2 and during the opening movie weird blue lines appered every where and it froze, so i restarted and i was still getting those weird blue lines in the desktop screen.

anyideas how to fix this?

edit: oh and i have win xp pro service pack2

ok edit again: my computer is now almost completely stuffed. i tryed playing aoe3 and during the starting movie it froze and now i have to hook the internet up to the family pc.

plz guys help if u can its been hell for like 3 weeks trying to get my computer working. first i had an Abit fatali1ty mobo and it was dead then i get the epox board and im still having problems, windows wont even boot most the time now and the monitor goes to sleep on and off and i now get random restarts. also my cmos screen is all messed up like those pics i posted.

Corrupt BIOS or bad video card or incompatability between video card/BIOS.

The blue lines in windows, etc. sounds like bad video RAM to me. Do you have a picture of the lines?

So it could be a bad mobo/mobo BIOS or a bad video card.

i tryed to get a photo but they come and go they are like dotted blue lines going down the screen. i havn't updated or flashed any bios yet, only updated drivers. now its got worse i cant really do any thing on there it freezes then windows like mesh together and get jumbled, its really weird.

My first test would be to put an older video card in there and see if the problem goes away. That's the most likely problem. The others could be it but are less likely.

I'm not familiar with your board, but this happened to me recently with my board in my sig. I was using a stock bios, and had Agp 3.0 set to 4x/8x, and got quite a bit of artifacting, even in bios like you have.
After just about going nuts, I finally pegged it down to that particular bios wanted the Auto setting, been good ever since, and of course I am not running that bios anymore.
Point being, it may not be Exactly that setting on your board, but perhaps another setting in bios is causing the prob.

Only other remotely similar issue was with my Matrox P650 on my A8V Deluxe board. The text for the BIOS/startup was garbled but it booted and ran fine. The problem was fixed with an update to the video cards BIOS. But it didn't cause the blue line issue which still sounds like bad video RAM to me.

Just a shot in the dark, but if this problem started After you made changes to settings in the bios, you may be able to work around the issue as to getting into bios by just clearing CMOS perhaps?
Like I say, just a Maybe.

hehe thanks but nope its all in weird jumble letters, i tryed using the jumper on the board but clearing cmos did nothing :( i have since done some research on the xfx vid cards and it sounds like alot! of ppl have had that same trouble as me. even on there own forums ppl are saying xfx is crap lol. so its got to be the vid card even tho paid experts said it wasn't @_@.
thanks every one for the replys :)
