Abit ip35-e motherboard core2 processor.

8800GT

2 GB kingston ram.

Ok so I put it together, powered it on I get no video at all, I get no beep codes at all, I get a little red light near the atx power connector.

When I turn it on, the fans spin up, about 3 seconds later it shuts off, then it starts back up and stays on, but I get no video at all.

What happened to beeping letting me know whats wrong?

Anything I might be missing?

is the speaker hooked up?

try turning it on with the ram removed, see if it will beep, if it will not then it's the mobo.

Well, I would hope it would be ram, I have tried booting the computer with no ram and it does not beep, I have tried 1 stick, won't boot.

Hook up the case speaker... hmmmm ok I guess I will look to see if I have anything like that. Don't know why the motherboard would not just have a built in speaker.

Maybe the motherboard came with the cmos jumper set wrong? ugggg I think it's most likely a bad mobo :((((((((

Anyone that has a ip35-e that has any tricks let me know.

What about the speaker hookup? Does the motherboard come with one or do you have to hook up some kind of speaker?

well, you should know since you put the board in the case, did you hook up case speaker to the appropriate fpanel plug.

also, did you connect the 24pin main and the 8pin 12v rail?

Take a look at the motherboard manual on page 1-8 under the section labeled 1.6.2 Front Panel Switches and Indicator Headers. There is a picture of the layout of the motherboard with a large arrow labeled FPIO1. Locate the section that the arrow is pointing at on your motherboard. Then, with the computer turned off and the power cord disconnected, use the large layout of those pins (displayed directly below the FPIO1 arrow in the manual) to locate the four pins labeled SPKR. Plug the small speaker inside your case (usually in the front of the case) into those pins, then turn the computer on and let us know what, if any, beep codes you get.

the speaker doesn't come with the motherboard. the speaker comes with the case, the speaker hookups should be on the bottom of the mobo

Well, I didn't hook the speaker up however I confirmed it is the motherboard or the CPU.

I used the same ram, same video card on a new mobo and CPU and it's up and running fine.

Frys had a deal for 200 bucks get a 2.66 Ghz core2duo and motherboard for 200 bucks, I'll prob just keep this setup, runs games very nicely.

make sure the CPU and MOBO are compatible with each other. Boards only work with certin CPU's and not everyone that is the same socket type.
