Hi Everyone

I just setup a new workstation with the following hardware.

The system is not getting through to post and it will give me a memory error code in the OLED display on the motherboard. Code 00 to be specific.

I have reseated the ram, the cpu, and I've even powered up the machine with no ram installed, and yet I am getting the same error code on powering up.

Is this a ram issue? It does appear that the ram I've purchased isnt "compatible", I bought a kit and I need 128+ gigs of ram due to the work I do.

Any insight on this would be wonderful.

Best.

I am looking and have looked a couple of times at the pins nothing seems out of whack there, its definitely not the easiest thing to see since there are so many there. But I've ruled out the motherboard and ram for now.

I was curious again tonight and looked at the proc and noticed a scratch on the metal pads on the underside.

This might be the reason.. I mean I would think a scratch like that would cause some issues.

Looked like something is shorting those pins, not a scratch. Might need to zoom in more.
I zoomed in. Its not a scratch, I think its something foreign shorting those 2 pins.

Hi
What happened with this case?
I have the same mainboard, same CPU, almost same PSU (AX1200i), almost same memory kit (64GB version) and I -seem- to have the same issue.
II have reseated the CPU 6 times.

It's your ram. Corsair ram is very inconsistent and with the densities you are using it becomes even more important. Switch to G.Skill...

Here's my build from Dec 2019 and I ran into zero issues with g.skill ram.

I HIGHLY doubt it. I've tried with some kingston ram I had lying around also. No difference.
And it does NOT stop on a ram post code.

Here is a video of the post sequence:

If you google this, with this card, PLENTY of people have the same issue. Even with ram from asus QVL list.

There's only 3 things at play here, the cpu/ram/mb. You could have a bad mb or one of the other two. Say if that's the case its the mb, you could still run into a ram issue down the road, ie. in the boot process. I dunno where you are in your troubleshoot process after 6 reseats but I would guess that it's time to replace parts like the mb atleast and go from there. Also, when I suggested the ram, it's for good reason. Corsair ram has been terrible on Ryzen systems, TR included.

Well, ok.So -if- I where to buy some new memory, would these be fine?
Kingston hyper x predator RGB HX432C16PB3AK4/64
They ARE on the qualified list on asus webage and pretty aviable in norway.
I'm not planning to overclock, I just want a stable, BOOTING system.

However, I've allready contacted the webshop I bought it from, to hear if I can exchange it in a other card, like msi creator. Time will show.

On AMD, my go to ram is just about anything G.Skill. I don't really adhere to the qvl list as its not always accurate and with Corsair, they have a tendency to change the ICs anyways so the qvl list wouldn't be accurate anyways.

Good luck.

I really want to to for the QLV list, just not corsair this time. And there are no 64GB gskill 3200 kits on that list.
If I buy something other than the QLV list this time, some other fucktard will try to shoot me down for "not buying from the qlv list".
Everyone got a bloody opinion, few can back it up with facts.
So, I'm going QLV, if I don't get to change in/RMA the card.

I have a very similar build and not had these issues. Even did a monoblock for the cpu/vrm so it's not like I've been super safe with everything.

Went with two of these G.Skill kits and I remember them being on QVL list.

No problem running at 3600 XMP settings.
