Just joined the forum but have used the site for research over the years. I haven't built a system in a number of years. Mostly due to laziness as I purchased Dell XPS systems, (which I have been happy with) current system is an upgraded but out of date XPS 600. I use the system for 30% gaming, 30% business applications, 20% HD video authoring and 20% photo editing. Also, while I have some understanding of the basics, I have not overclocked a system. System plan is as follows:

Case: CM Storm Sniper (std two 220mm fans + one 120mm and adding either one 220mm in side or if conflict with cooler one 120mm in case bottom)
PSU: Enermax Revolution 85+ 850w
MB: MSI Eclipse SLI
CPU: i7 950 (because I?m not sure about OC)
Cooler: TRUE 120 1366RT
Mem: OCZ DDR3-PC3-14400 Platinum (1800 mhz 8-8-8-26)
HDD1: WD 2TB WD20EADS
HDD2: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB
HDD3: Samsung Spinpoint 750GB
DVD: Two LG 22x SATA (GH22LS50)
Mon: Dell 2407
Video: Two MSI GTX275 896 MB
KB/Mouse: G15 and G5
SC: X-Fi Fital1ty Pro
Reader: Samsung SA-SFD-32
Win 7 RC (until retail is available)
Res: 1680 x 1050 and higher

Main concerns are whether the 850w PSU is enough or should I go to the 1050w version; alternative MD is the Asus P6 Deluxe v2 and not sure about memory. Also, any other suggestions would be appreciated?..thanks

I think you'll enough wattage with what you've got. I'd recommend a change on your video cards. I'd either go ATi 4870 x 2 or look at the new ATi 5800 series. 5850 beats the GTX285 and the 5870 is the best card on the market. If you're not an ATi guy that's cool, just some suggestions.

I'm considering the same cooling, or the LN2 if I learn more about it. You can get 5Ghz easily with that CPU with the proper cooling. I saw LN2 for $180CND and I'm considering it myself, but there's more to it since it's Liquid Nitrogen.

And some sites overclock for you if you don't want to do it yourself, when you buy their systems. They lay it out very nicely, but I have a friend who's done this before.

The Revo is a nice PSU - low ripple; stays under 30 or 40mv which is well below allowances, I own 2 950s I'm currently holding off on the 1250 Evolution for the Classified build...

Many thanks. I have adjusted my build based upon the feedback and the provided links. GTX's will be replaced with 2 ATI HD 5850 cards, 1600 mhz memory (6Gb for $130 CDN) and I will educate myself on OC and get the i7 920. Given the increased efficiency of the 5850 over the GTX275 I think that the Revo 850 should be sufficient. Do you agree?
