New build, re-use old PSU? Fortron AX450 450w

I have this PSU for my current rig, Athlon A64/DFI Lanparty NF3. I’m looking to build a i7-920/asus p6t deluxe setup. The video card will probably be a low end radeon 4670 or maybe a 5750. Will my PSU work? I’m not sure if the connectors are any different with the new mobos. thanks

Um. That PSU is only rated at 14 amps on either of the 12v rails. Depending on just how old it it you may not have enough juice to reliably power an i7 920. And you can forget even pondering the possibility of contemplating any overclocking.

It should have enough of the right kinds of connectors including a PCIe for a low end video card.

time for a new one then, what would you suggest that can handle mild, air cooled overclocking as well?

Depends on how wild you wanna go, how cool your environment is and how long you keep your parts.

For reference I have a nearly two year old Antec EA500 powering a 3.8 @ 1.15v overclock on my i7 (but that particular i7 runs stock at .86 or so volts) with a passive 8800GT video card, 5 fans and 2 "green" hard drives. While this is much closer to the rated capacity of the PSU than most would prefer it is in a very well ventilated case. I wouldn't chance a 4890 in there though.

Anything from a $40 refurb OCZ '700 watt' (really a ~450 watt) *XStream at the low end to a $100 TP New 650 would be good for what you're contemplating.
