First of all, this is my first post, so I salute you all! :)

Now, for the matter at hand.
In want to build a new PC around an i7 2700K SandyBridge.

My problem is cooling the CPU. I have an Antec P193 EU and I'd really like to be able to fit a Noctua NH D14 or better yet, an Thermalright Silver Arrow.

I scoured the internet for info but haven't managed to find something that would say for sure if they fit or not; in Thermalright's variant, anyway (it seems to me that the Noctua NH D14/P193 debate is pretty much solved, it doesn't fit).

So, can you guys tell me about Silver Arrow in a P193?
And maybe some alternatives, if it doesn't fit.

Thanks!

As far as I know, thermalright Silver Arrow is even bigger than D14. I would suggest Noctua C14 if you want high performance cooling without having to worry about height clearance. However, high performance cooling is strictly speaking not needed for Sandy Bridge unless you aim to overclock to the extreme. Something like this would get you a decent OC with decent temps.

I'd suggest also posting a thread about your new build in General Hardware before you decide to make any purchases. (If you haven't already.)

@T_Yamamoto: I'm guessing you're referring to the Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fan and Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus?

@lehtv: Yes, I want to overclock the CPU, but not by extreme amounts. Since stock speed is 3500MHz, I'm thinking something around 4200/300-ish should be reasonable?

Yes. A cheap cooler like 212+ suggested by T_Yamamoto and the Zalman cooler I posted will be able to achieve 4.2-4.3 easily. Even 4.5 can be achieved with moderate voltages as long as you get a decent chip.

I would also add that 2700K isn't worth the premium over 2600K because you will be able to overclock 2600K to 4.2-4.3 just the same. And for most people, 2600K isn't worth it over 2500K - only buy 2600K if you actually have use for hyperthreading (gaming isn't one of them).

Well, of course I'll try to overclock as much as possible, that's why I'm looking for the best possible cooler that fits in the P193. Water cooling is out of the question, since a CPU-only solution is too expensive for what I want to achieve, IMO.

So out of your suggestions I'm thinking the Noctua C14 has the best performance?
Any other suggestions?
