Asys 450 watt PS

now, my problem is, i have everything installed, tested mobo/cpu/ram and it booted fine and temps holded as well as voltages from the PS

i connected my molex connectors to my cd-rom drives and rebooted and it posted good

finally connected the HD and the when i hit the power button the system just blips on for a split second then turns off

i tested the HD in another system and it loaded fine on it as a secondary drive.

what could be my problem??????

PATA drive I'm guessing? Check your switches on your optical and hard drive. Something is probably set to cable select, while the other is set to slave. Or two are set to slave. Or something like that...
Tas.

the drive is on its on IDE and it is set for master, i've tried different cables, i've unplugged all the cd drives and used different molex connectors but still wehn i hit the power button it spins up for 1 second then powers right back off...if i unplug the HD everything will boot fine.....but as i said previously the HD loaded on another system

All other drives??? What if you disconnect your optical drives completely, and plug in the hard drive, does the system still not power up?
Tas.

Yes there is. Newcastle A64's from a long time ago were made for S939 too. But jeez, it's a really old CPU... A Venice would have been so much better. Try connecting the hard drive and disconnecting some other crap. Maybe your power supply can't handle all that hardware. It IS a pretty crappy generic brand... I wouldn't be surprised if it blew up your motherboard... Get a new one from a reputable manufacturer.

its a possibility, ill juss order another Enlight PS and see wat i can do w/ this

First, disconnect some other drives and see if that single drive will work. If not, then get a GOOD power supply. Don't get some crappy generic brand. Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Sparkle, PC Power and Cooling, OCZ, and XClio just to name a few.
