Hello all! I recently just built a new pc, the specs are on this topic: http://forums.anandtech.com/me...id=27&threadid=2283185

But the problem is that it won't start up or even post. When I turn it on the monitor doesn't pick up the input. What I noticed is that the cpu fan isn't spinning. I checked the connections to make sure it was in the correct pins and installed the correct way. Did I get a dud fan or could it be a mobo problem? Thanks for any help!

your specs list includes:

Antec Neo Power 430 430W ATX12V.
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850 512MB PCI Express 2.0x16 HDCP

Power requirements for the video card state:
450 Watt or greater power supply with 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended

hmmmm.......that should be problem #1 @ hand

here is a list of certified PS from AMD--->LINK

Ok that problem is fixed, I was retarded and didn't plug in the 2X4 12V connector. But now I am getting a memory dump error when I try to install vista. I'm running memtest86+ from a bootable usb and I've already gotten an error (at 3% of the 3rd test). So I'm guessing I need to rma the ram....

Try going into BIOS and boosting your Vdimm a bit to see if that gets rid of the errors.

Edit:
It looks like the default voltage for your ram should be 2.1v. If it's lower than that in BIOS, set it to 2.1v and retest with Memtest86+. If it's already set to 2.1v, try 2.15v, then 2.2v to see if it'll pass.

Just tried that and I got the same errors. So I picked up some Corsair XMS2 2x2gb pc6400 from Fry's and no errors were detected. However once I installed vista, windows says I only have 3gb, even though the bios states the full 4gb.
