I am using:

DFI Lanparty SLI-DR
AMD X2 4400+
OCZ PC4000 Gold VX
Zalman CNPS-9500

I tried overclocking the processor too much and definitely blew something (I smelt something burning). I tried a brand new CPU, but it still won't work (only two or three diag lights turn on, never the fourth).
Could I have blown something on the motherboard? Or maybe even the RAM?

Thanks.

which diagonal lights are talking about?

check the diagnostic LED lights found at the bottom left corner of the board. see where it gets stuck.

at least you can isolate the cpu , ram, or vga from these lights

Sounds like mobo. WTF did you do? Look for sorch marks. Try diff RAM.

Those diag lights MEAN something, look up what they stand for and that will help.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.

The first three lights (VGA, DRAM and CPU detected) come on but not the fourth ('System start-up').

I can't see scorch marks, but my fan does spin at maximum speed when i turn on the machine.

Yes, it sounds like the mobo. Where you using the high DDR voltage jumper? It's a known fact that using the high DDR voltage jumper setting on this board can cause the board to burn out capacitors
