New Build...No Sound? Would appreciate some help!

Well, I finally got all my stuff for my build yesterday and got it all put together. First time ever building a computer and all went excellent. Only problem I'm having is I have no sound.

If I try and use WMP or any media player it says that I don't have a sound card. The motherboard has onboard sound, and it appears to be enabled in the BIOS, but I have nothing.

Looking at the drivers in device manager shows all my Sound, video and game controllers all working fine. I do have a question mark in 'Other devices' for a PCI Device but I can't for the life of me figure out what it belongs to and/or where to find drivers to correct the problem.

Gigabyte EP35 DS3R

Would appreciate some help getting my sound to work.

The "other devices" is most likely your sound card. You could try double clicking on it, go to the drivers tab, tell it to update driver, install from a list or specific location, check the box to specify a specific location and try to find the audio drivers folder.

You can get all drivers for your motherboard, including the audio adapter, directly from Gigabyte's web site here.

Thanks, it was actually the sound drivers...everything is working good now. Thanks for the help!
