OK, I am a long time AMD guy and getting ready to make the switch to Intel. I am getting a Conroe 6800, new RAM, and new board and need some help on picking the board.
I am used to a cleaner selection in AMD land and finding the various chipset choices for the Intel confusing. So far it seems the P965 and 975x are the way to go but I wanted to get some input.
So, first - help me decide on a chipset and seocnd on a board. I will be using corsair high end memory in the system and until the ATI R600 is out I will be using a GX2 (once the R600 is out I will be doing two of them in crossfire). So I need it to be crossfire capable in the future and I want to be able to overclock a little bit. On O/C, all I watn is to be able to up the clock a bit, I am not going to go craxy though, stability is mroe valuable to me than squeezing every last clock cycle out of the core and I question the real performance gains of overclockign the heck out of a top end chip anyways.
So, want to get the order in this weekend so help me out - first, which chipset and second, which board. I am partial to MSI (had good reuslts with them in the past but I also trust ASUS and suppose I am open to others).
