Windows 7 ULT x64 OEM $189
Asus H87-PRO (V Edition) $164.99
Xeon E3-1245V3 $289.99
Samsung 840EVO 250GB $159.99 (Should I consider Crucial m500)
SeaSonic SS-520FL2 520W $139.99 (Is this too much to spend?)
Thermaltake Urban S41 VP600M1N2N Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Chassis $139.99
Asus DVD-RW DL $19.99

**No video card for now, intel will do just fine**

My main points of confusion is the power supply, and the SSD. I have never spent that much on a PSU. Do I really need a 520w? I want to plan on adding a video card in 2 yrs from now. I like seasonic as they make antecs earthwatt series and I have 3 of them running for a long while. Other PSU's ahve always failed very early on.

What about fanless PSU;s are they durable?

Secondly I am hung up on the crucial m500 vs Sammy. I like my 830 series that I hate to switch brands. But I have heard crucial is cheaper and still awsome.

Is there a specific feature you need in the ultimate edition? (f.x. support for multilingual user interface, VHD booting, bitlocker etc.)

If there isn't, get the PRO version. There is no reason to pay for features you do not absolutely need.

Wattage wise, that PSU is just fine. 520W might be a little overkill, but if you're planning to add a graphics later its good to have some headroom. My own system is only powered by a 450W (also Platinum certified) and doesn't even break 250W full load. Measured at the wall, mind you... ;) (i7-3770 + 16GB RAM + HD7870 + SSD and 2x HDD's).

Weather you're willing to pay for a high efficiency PSU is up to you. It certainly doesn't hurt anything, but quality costs. For me, it makes sense as electricity is expensive where I live, and I like things to be efficient, but again YMMV...

For the SSD, you really can't get better then the 840EVO. The M500 is an option, but weather to get it depends on pricing. Pick whichever is cheapest...

250 watts seriously? Thats low....

Glad to hear, I want to plan ahead on engery effieciency. We all have to do that so WE save our pocketbook. I do not do it to be "green" but to save $$$ over the course of a few years. Utility costs will never go down.

I could go with the pro version. I do not need ultimate.

Low, but true. Modern PC's with only one graphics card really don't need more then a quality 400-500W PSU. Unless you're planning some serious overclocking that is... :)

Choosing a high (>500W) wattage PSU can in fact be counter-productive, as you loose efficiency at low loadings. Which happens to be where most PC's spend most of their time after all. Haswell has even lower idles then Ivy BTW.

Personally, I'd like to see more quality (<~300W) PSU's, for the F&F segment. The only decent choice in that range is the Seasonic G360. For some reason it's a little expensive where I live.

When you're paying ~42c/KWh, every % of efficiency counts... :ninja:

Verions of 8.x will not reside on my main build. I have it on a laptop enough that I do not like it. Maybe windows 9 will be better.

I like crucial, but being that it has a mavell controller vs a in house controller like Samsung........not sure what to think. I just know my 830 series is amazing and hoped the 840 evo would be too.

I might go with a cheaper PSU in the 400 some watt range. I remember using a 430 in the P4 era. We have come a long way since then.
