60 fps is fine, all you have to do now is close winamp while you play wow, duh

if you want to run lots of crap at the same time get a p4

Whats your internet connection speed? If your on dialup it could possibly be a bad phoneline/modem. Check to see what you can do to improve your internet connection speeds...

game runs fine for me, i am only using a 9800 pro at the same res. Wow Does eat a lot of ram and I am thinking of going with 1.5 GB instead of 1GB. Other then that it is about as smooth as it gets.

Athlon 64 3400+
1 GB OCZ PC3200 2225 ram
Radeon 9800 Pro

A lot of the lag in the game is due to the servers being heavily loaded. So if you are on a high populated server, there is nothing you can really do about it. Blizzard did take a large amount of the servers down to work on them to help improve performance.

Also change the refresh rate for in game to something higher then 60Hz 😉

You're going to hit pockets of 30fps, and there's nothing you can do. With the highly variable nature of the game, the unusually big battles in the game will slow it down, and that's all there is to it.

YOUR COMPUTER SHOULD RUN THOSE SETTINGS EXCELLENTLY.
If anything drop the AA. If performance is still poor, then it is definitely an internet connection issue.

yeah check your internet connection. My roommate plays all the time at 16x12 and he has no problems, looks great on a XP2100+ non OC, PC2700Ram 1GB, Radeon 9700pro, Soyo KT400a board.

I run in 16x12 with full eye candy & 4aa/8af on a 9800pro... framerate can drop a bit when I'm looking at graphically intensive areas or especially on wind riders, but I get the same at 12x10 and even 10x7. I run foobar2k with resampling (a bit intensive) while playing as well, and while I have a p4, it's not HT. Pretty obvious how to see how much winamp is affecting performance - close it and see if performance goes up. As another poster mentioned, make sure you have your latest chipset drivers installed, perhaps also try a clean install of the newest video card drivers (use Driver Cleaner).

 at people suggesting your connection's to blame for low fps.
