come on, she's 13! whats with the mouse??? you dont really need a gig of memory if she's really going to do what you stated. get an msi rs480m2-il, integrated graphics is like an x300 which will again be suffice if she really is going to do what you stated.

Hey man...I am not much up to speed on new hardware, but I still know a few things.

I like the case and PSU slection. Also like the HD selection..however, you might as well spend about $15 more and get a 16x DVD burner.
Ram slection is fine, so is screen.

CPU is a bit overkill, but I understand why you want to go 939.

Definitely need to downgrade video card. She doesn't need a 6600GT VIVO for "word processing,AIM,email,Solitaire". Anything under $100 should be OK.

Thats all I have to say..good luck.

Or what waffles said..integrated would work too. I think the reason that he is going with 1GB is cause its so damn cheap.

i like it because of the passive HS

like i said, get the msi rs480m2-il. dont need to spend extra money getting a dedicated card.

There are Abit and Asus(maybe gigabyte?) socket939 motherboards with passive chipset heatpipe, this should reduce some noise.

If you look around, there are some Socket 754 Combo deals @ Outpost.com. This system for the targetted person can be built for less than $500 easily. Even with a monitor.

Don't forget windows and as5 and downgrade from 6600gt, if you want. Suggested improvements to psu. Get this instead for an additonal $11 Rosewill RP550 ATX 550W Power Supply-57, also get a dvd burner NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A-56 instead.

Yes, but since she is not gaming he can save some money by buying a mobo with onboard vide and get 512MB of RAM.
