New build critique, help please

Personally, I would go from the XFX Radeon HD 6970 to a HD6950 2 gig, and drop the SSD down to a 64 gig model for a savings of $150 or so. If you need more cuts then that, I would just drop the SSD altogether.

Also noticed that you are budgeting $50 for the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus, when it can be found at a number of other places for $30.

I am not too sure about XFX brand PSU, I stick with Antec or Corsair, there are other good ones too but expensive line SeaSonic

Seasonic makes all of the XFX branded PSUs.

Ok will do Desi. If I wanted to shave off $100-300 dollars, where would you guys start cutting back?

DesiPower is just wrong about this one. Stick with the XFX, it's Seasonic-made.

Overall, your build looks good (if a bit higher than where you started out!).

The places to trim are, in order:
- Swap cooler to Corsair CAFA50 -$25
- Swap SSD to Agility 3 -$40
- Swap case to Rosewill Blackbone -$35
- Swap GPU to 6950 2GB -$70

You don't necessarily have to do all of those, just go down the list until the price is where you want to be.
