Hey all,
Im hoping someone here can help me and fast, i say fast because i only have a 15 days to return item if defected. Well anyways, these last couple of months ive been pretty much doing pointless upgrades. I went from a 3200+ 64 to a 3400+ (both 745) now a 3500+ socket 939. At first the system ran significantly slower then the 3400+ (very noticeable) when i first installed new cpu and mobo, but then after a fresh install of xp, system was running like it should be. Any ways while i was building system i realized after i opened boxed my mobo dosnt support agp (totally slipped my mind about pci-express being on the market) so much for using my 9800 anymore. Now im left with using a gforce 4 mx 420 (loL, good ol days) until i get my new card. Now the only problem is i havnt gone for more then 30 mins sufing the net or messing around on desktop with out the system hanging (getting very very frustrated trying to figure this out). Im able to play cs source and not hang (even on the g4) at all however when it comes to 1.6 (cant even get gam open) the system hangs (think this is more of a cs issue). Im starting to think it can be due to the older vid card on the system or a faulty mobo (maybe mobo is just touchy). Im completly clueless on this and have turned to you guys for help, should i go return mobo? Could it be procs?

Im gonna try a differnt pci slot, and perhaps a complete hd reformat instead of the partition.

heres specs.

ecs nforce4-a939 with 3500+ 64
cooled with zalman s7000b
512x2 kingston hyper x 3200
250gb maxtor hd in 5 partitions
mx gforce4 420 in pci slot (some uprade from 9800 , shoulda done some reading)
420w psu (thinking this maybe, but the sokcet 754 ran fine, and it draws more power plus the additon of the 9800, so maybe not)

in particular system hangs while multitasking on desktop when i start closing applications fast.

please help, sorry if i left anything out
