Alrighty, its that time of the seasons again... I have a buyer for my old parts, now to decide what to replace those parts with...

Here's what I'm currently thinking of getting....

Abit AN8-SLi
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Crucial Ballistix PC3200 2x512MB 2-2-2-6 (Already own, not selling)
Leadtek or Asus nVidia GeForce 7800GT
Antec TruePower 550 EPS12V (SLi Ready)
Antec P180 Case
2xWestern Digital Caviar Raid Edition 250GB 8MB cache SATA (RAID 0)

I was wondering, since the Abit AN8-SLi only has the NF4 SATA controller and no other discrete controller (i.e. Silicon Image or Promise) will this hinder the overclocking ability of the board? Should i spend the extra money and get the Asus A8N-SLi Premium that has a Silicon Image 3114R RAID controller as well, which would then allow me to overclock more, and without worrying about my SATA drives.

Anyways, thanks for the Comments and suggestions...

I would get a EVGA or BFG card because they both have lifetime warranties.

That EPS PSU is for server boards. Get the regular 550. And thought about X2 ?

As for the EPS12V psu, my friend has one that he is not using and he will practically give to me. It also has 2x 6pin PCIE connectors.

For ASUS vs Abit. The Asus A8N-SLi Premium is more expensive than the Abit. I would never get the other A8N-SLi boards because of the cheap fan they put on them. I've already seen too many of those crap out.

I've actually decided on the BFG 7800GT OC, because i found a great price on it.

And the RAID 0, its cheaper to get 2x250GB than 1x500GB. And you get a minor performance boost. Ahh.... i still remember by RAID 0 of IBM Deathstars.... It somehow never crapped out untill i put them in another computer and put them in RAID 1... lol

Try to go for an Opteron 146 instead. Higher grade silicon = more overclockability, plus an extra 512MB of L2 cache.
