it's nice to have this resource available .


Guys , I have recently purchased the following parts for my new build. I am going to combine the new parts with some of my old drives. I have purchased everything I need but memory which I plan to purchase soon. Just wondering if I could get some feedback on which memory is good and any problems that anyone might see in the compatibility of the components listed.

Case: Antech 900
Power supply: Thermaltake tough power 700w
Motherboard: Asus P5E Deluxe Green , will flash with Rampage Bios
CPU Q6600
GPU: Power Color 4850, Plan to get another 4850
Drives: 2 WD raptors 36 gig will run in raid for boot
memory: still need to purchase, looking for 4 gigs
Storage drive: still need to purchase
OS Vista 64
N7 seems to like the mushkin accents 2gigsx2, so do I

I understand that the Asus board is particular about memory so I want to be sure that what I get will work. The asus QVL is pretty much useless so I thought I would ask here.

I'd be wary of flashing the BIOS. What're you going to gain from it? What processor are you using, and are you intending to overclock?

from what I understand, the Bios will enhance the overclocking abilities of 1066 Ram. Though this might be overkill since I will be using a q6600

It's more than overkill. DDR2-800 is all you need to overclock a Q6600 all the way to its limit.
