If you have such a large budget, and you want a top notch gaming system, I wouldn't get any old architecture (not saying it's not good, just planning for the future DX11). Consider the 5870 or even the 5970. With that large of a budget, I'm sure you can snag one easily.

EDIT: Also, go for the Caviar Black, if you don't want an SSD

Thanks, Donut. I don't see a good 5970 on newegg but I found this 5870. I also found this GTX 295. What to get?

As for the hard drive, I was planning on just using the one I linked to above until I found a good deal later down the road on and SSD. I forgot to mention that sorry.

Also, the 2000 is not including peripherals or monitor. I have that stuff already.

Edit: Well maybe I will go for an SSD now. This one looks like a good deal.

I would definitely get the 5870, as that thing ROCKS and leaves an open option for future CFX, perhaps ? But that just might be my own, worthless opinion 🙂. I mean, SSDs are a nice addition, but my friend is doing just fine with a Caviar Black (Tops out the 32mb cache Samsungs and he pit it against a Raptor). That part is really personal preference, if anything.
 
That memory is overkill, however, mainstream. Nevermind the memory i bought in rig 3 of my sig.. Rig 2 was bought after reading the Anandtech memory article: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=3589 and you should be looking for something around 1.5v at low latency although you could probably run that at 1333 at 1.5v but still that's way too high a price.

Consider an Emermax Revolution 1050 or 950. I think the Revo's never went above 30 or 40mv - Read JonnyGuru for indepth reviews on PSUs

Ok, hold off until someone can explain to you what memory is helpful when overclocking. I dont' think you'll be able to overclock very far at 1333Mhz memory. But I'm not totally sure about it.

What I do know is if you want, you can change the divider ? memory multiplier ? to compensate your overclock to make it stay around 1333 You can also raise the CL7 to CL8 and run it 8.8.8.24 at 1.5-1.6v for something like 1440Mhz....

Do you know how to overclock an i7? I think there is a tool out there to help you out with that. Google NehalemCalc 1.3 and download the little tool to show you how to overclock an i7

If anyone has some more info on overclocking the system I have put together I'd sure appreciate it.

I would say go with that memory kit. If you need to run them close to 1600 for overclocking, you can always losen the timings and raise the voltage. I bet they can do CL6 / 6.6.6.18 1T at 1.6v @ 1333Mhz

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820226036 - was my kit i bought and my reviews doing CL6 at 1.65v and the update review. Although when i bought them they were 129$ free shipping... I bet you can get close to 1600Mhz within the MAX spec of 1.65v
