I am running XP pro. Also, I'm not running in compatibility mode. When I first played VC it would crash during the opening cut-scene (with the 3.1 drivers), but I changed the sound from EAX to D3dsound hardware, and haven't had any crashes since.

The one problem I have had with all the drivers so far is certain textures occasionally not showing up on the screen right away (for example, I'll crash into something, even though I cant see anything, but when I turn around it shows up), like the baricades blocking the bridge.

Aggressor, are you sure you are truely capped at 30fps? Maybe the game missreports it. Unless you are having actuall slowdowns in game why worry? I would double check your frame rates with a program like FRAPS.

the game has a 30fps cap that is built into it, but you can toggle it off.

and edm, that is the issue i am reffering to, if you run in win98 compatablity mode it should solve that for you.

aggressor, are you overclocking any part of your system? CPU, memory, video card?

Edit: I'm guessing the problem you created this thread for is different than this, to which you replied with a fix?

Edit the second: I guess it is, as you say the problem disappears when you enable the framerate limiter. Well, as long as you're limited to 30fps, you might as well crank up the res and AA/AF to make the most of it. ;)

I had corrupt driver installs on my two geforce 4s and none on either of my radeons, therefore nvidia's drivers are less stable and ati's much much better.

another logical fallacy just the reverse (but true about the g4s and radeons).

Corrupt drivers can be caused by bad download(Nvidia recommend you don`t use any download managers or have anti-virus enabled on install) and also not removing the old ones in some cases can cause problems,I don`t want to get into an ATI v Nvidia argument but I`ve never had any problems with Nvidia drivers going back to the TNT days, their drivers have and are perfect for me.

Saying Nvidia drivers is less stable is wrong,I could easy find you some ATi owners that have problems with drivers ,does that mean they are less stable then Nvidia drivers?

Bottom line is both brands, depending on the owner will offer the owner good or bad experiences, that`s the most honest reply I can give.

:)
