this is something straight outta the movies. it actually happened pretty close to me (i live in lexington) check out the story from our local newspaper here baby left on porch

they said on the news that the orphanage had recieved many calls requesting to adopt so i guess its okay.

but what kind of person could just leave a child on someones porch.

well, i guess people have done worse, i remember stories of leaving newborns in dumpsters and such, now thoes people are messed up.

more likely that she just didn't want anyone knowing she was pregnent.the Umbilical cord was still attached at the time, and they are planning on saving it for dna evidence. if she just didn't want an abortion she coulda took it to the proper athorities.

<< probably somebody who didn't want to get an abortion 🙂 >>

Ummm...Why does this make you smile? ::scratches his head::

Makes me ill...Happens way to often...luckily this one survived.

Josh said his sister screamed, ``Look, it's moving,'' as she pointed at the rug on the swing. They then heard cooing sounds and saw a little hand emerge from the rug.

``I jumped back about 4 feet,'' Josh said, realizing they had found a baby.

could you imagine finding a baby outside your home? i wouldn't know what to do. other than call 911 that is. it would freak me out.

i felt like smiling... dunno why

what are you talking about? i have yet to hear of horror stories of babies being left like that dying. most of the stories i hear are when they're thrown in gas station garbage cans or something.

you talk as if she's some sort of criminal. sure, it's pretty sh!tty that she abandoned her kid, but do you really want somebody like that raising a kid? come on... dna evidence? for what? so we can force her to take care of an unwanted child?

Left like that or thrown in garbage can or killed and tossed aside. They all make me sick. If you can't take care of it, give it to an adoption agency, don't leave it on someones doorstep.

when the baby is less than 24hr old and is left by itself on a swing it is quite easy for it to die.

DNA evidence so they can charge her for leaving her baby unattended on someones doorstep. If they find her, she could get prison time. If those people weren't home, the baby would of most likely died.

um, i'm sorry but i have a hard time equating making sure that somebody finds your baby with just tossing it in the garbage can. i think it's far easier to make equate what happened with giving it to an agency.

they were in the house with the tv on, the article mentions this as a possible reason why that house was chosen. why the hell would the mother go through the trouble of knocking on the door if she really didn't care like that?

I didn't say they were equal. I said that all of them make me sick. Obviously when the baby dies its worse. But none of those cases makes me smile thats for sure...

i don't understand how this makes you sick. the mother chose a home that had people in it. it's just about the same as giving it to an adoption agency. 🙂

Like I said before. If she didn't want the child she should of given it to an adoption agency. She obviously didn't care enough to just leave the baby on someones porch. I don't understand why your defending her actions. It was wrong. Period.

you still haven't told me what the huge difference is. the only diff in my mind is that they don't have paperwork on her. which isn't that important in regards to the baby's wellbeing.

I don't understand why your defending her actions.

read the above, i don't see the difference.

It was wrong. Period.

nice to see you're quick to judge.

what if the people in the house didn't hear the knock on the window? what if they didn't find the baby in the swing? in kentucky you can give a baby to the police without your identity going public. i for one will not answer a door if i don't know who is knocking. sure as hell wouldn't answer it when i see no one knocking.

and what if the mother was watching to make sure somebody opened it? if you're going to come up with hypotheticals, you have to look at both sides.

elledan... eh... that was a little too subtle for me... what's that mean?

and about your sig... so basically we can't win? 🙂

what if this, what if that. fact is the kentucky state police is seeking to file criminal charges against the woman if they can find her. and have even sent out press releases asking for info on anyone who is suddenly not Pregnant anymore. and when they get a lead the dna from the umbilical cord will prove who it is.
