The Transporter should be Bond

He'd be perfect for if they ever make a Hit Man movie.
I dunno, Statham doesn't have that "I'm slightly deranged" look about him. I could see a bald John C. McGinley doing it though, easily.

Which is not to say Statham wouldn't do a completely badass job at portraying the role.

He would not make a good Bond; he's too "street", and Bond cannot be even remotely bald or balding, regardless of whether or not it looks fashionable.

What I really like about the guy is that (from what I hear in DVD commentaries and interviews anyway) the director of whatever flick he's doing usually has to stop him from doing his own stunts for the really dangerous stuff. Now sure, he's not like Jackie Chan, doing every single stunt himself, but apparently he does about 85% of his own stunts in a given movie. That's pretty impressive.

Sean Connery was bald by the time he was 21. He wore a wig in all the James Bond movies.

Fascinating. I didn't know that.

Still, Statham couldn't get away with it. People know him, know his hairline; wearing a wig to portray James Bond would be a bad move for everybody.

He's still too "street". Whoever said it was right: he's the British answer to Bruce Willis.

Binicio Del Toro would be a killer bond 🙂
He was already in a Bond movie. Although that hasn't stopped other actors from returning to the Bond frachise playing completely different characters.

Also, Clive Owen has stated (through his publicist) he doesn't want to play Bond because he feels it'd limit him as an actor.

I read somewhere saying Clive Owen did not want to be in the next bond film. Besides, I think he's a little too stoic to portray a suave Bond. What about Hugh Jackman
