Interesting, so are you saying the head of the bolts scrape the ground instead of the paint on the bottom of the front lip? Have the bolts worn down by repeated scrapes? I don't intend to repeatedly scrape the bottom lip, but it seems like it could happen a few times when entering some parking lots...

To me, the front lip (fangs? I don't know what they're really called) is an aftermarket disposable item. I think they were $100. Whether it's bolt heads, front lip/fangs, I don't care as long as I'm not ripping off the factory bumper cover.

No matter how hard you try, you will end up scraping on a low car. Hopefully it's not pulling in front of traffic or something where you have no choice but to gun it... But in a worst-case scenario, scraping up an aftermarket lip is preferable to ripping off the bumper.

Note that traditionally a "lip" hangs down, is not really what I have. In my opinion lips are worse, because they catch on things rather than slide across them. They're purely for looks. In my opinion the "fangs" are better, because they make the bottom of the bumper completely smooth and flat... So rather than catching on the curb it sort of lifts the bumper and slides across it.

Edit: I believe they're technically called front bumper splitters.

Anyways, I've decided not to get cilajet, figured I could just get a full detail after a few years instead. The extended warranty I'm going to wait until near the 4th year to see how reliable the car had been and make a final decision then about trading it in vs.keeping it and adding an ext. Warranty. Tire warranty, I'm gonna forego as well. I haven't had any tire issues in the last 5 years living here.

Congrats on the ride. Make sure you have the extended warranty quote in writing, it doesnt expire, and doesn't go up on a yearly basis.

If you're gonna keep it, spend some money on the 3M clear bra for all your fronts. Best investment, ever. As for warrantee, I think the mileage is a bit low for extended, at some point, you'll need something repaired and the first thing will probably pay for itself.
