New BIOSes coming for all motherboards?

AMD's 1.3 GHz offering will debut at 200 and 266 MHz FSB so we'll need a 13x multiplier!

But if the 1300 uses a 266 FSB, surely the mulitplier would be 10.0 X ??

that is the 1.33Ghz chip. 10x133 = 1,330

The 1.3Ghz may have some way to bypass the 12.5X multiplier, because from what I know KT133 only allows up to 12.5X.

From what I've been reading several things are possible. A BIOS update to allow 13x+ multipliers. Re-mapping an unused (5x) multiplier to 13x. AMD may just hardware lock (where the L1 bridges do NOTHING) the chip to a 13x multiplier.

This would be like INtel with E and EB processors. Yes, it would suck but they've been saying this was coming all along.

Remember, in order for the 1.3 GHz to work in pre KT133-A chipsets, it MUST have a 13x multiplier!
