This is the first BIOS since 1002 that has detected my 2 Maxtor 10 HDDs without "losing" them on a cold boot.

The notes on the German ftp site state that the 1004 final is the 1004.001 beta. Haven't ran a file comparison to see if there is a difference. These are also available on the Taiwan ftp server. 😉

1004 final is not the same as 1004 beta. I have confirmed 1004 final also includes version 4.81 of the NVRAID bios, which I think what is needed to resolve Maxtor issues. (hopefully it fixes my DiamondMax 9s)

I installed it and no problems so far with my Maxtors. I'm gonna try to get my machine to lock up now. I'll report back...

Bios looks good so far. No lock ups as with privious bios, 1004.001 beta.

It must be the new RAID Bios upgrader thats included with the final release.
