New BIOS 1006 for both P4B266-C and P4B266

Did it fail, or appear to work but not actually update your bios? Or, worse case scenario, did it leave your system unbootable?

I see there are 2 different 1006 BIOSes for the P4B266, a 1006B and a 1006BJ. I just flashed to the 1006B and everything is good. Running at the usual 2.5Ghz. I looked thru the BIOS quickly and the 2 things I noticed are 1.The Vcore options go upto 1.7 without the overvolt jumper(atleast i think thats new) and 2. The TEMP IS CORRECT!!!

The BIOS read 37C after browsing thru for a few mins, I then booted into XP and MBM5 read 36C at first, then dropped down to the normal 32C. (I have 4 80mm Sunon 55cfm case fans, but I have three of them wired to a relay and switch(2 intake,1 exhaust), and with only one running(exhaust) 32C is normal idle, 28C with all 4 running.)

Does anyone know what the J is for in 1006BJ?

I'm going to reboot at 160FSB and see if the USB locks up at POST, like it did with 1005. I'll post results in a few mins.

Well, I set FSB to 160, but after I selected XP from the boot manager it froze at a black screen. I went back to 155fsb and ran 3dmark2001SE and everything is good. I may flash to the 1006bj and see what is different later today.
