new beta/official Game Theater XP driver?

Alright, does anyone out there work for Hercules? Anyone know when we can expect a driver for the Game Theater XP for Win2k that allows virtual 5.1 or anything which will allow me to use my dam 8.2 set up? I have to admit that although I'm only getting 2.1 sound watching TV on my computer, that stuff is clean and sharp, but sure would like to have surround sound going on--or at least have sound coming out from all of my speakers. I get 4.1 sound when playing UT or QuakeIII but still am not using 1 sub and 4 additional speakers.

I love how much brighter and how much more control I have over my "center channel" while watching DVDs however. I'm willing to wait for this supposed driver update but when is it going to be???

I am curious about how you have your 8.2 setup hooked up? I have two sets of Promedia's for a 8.2 setup as well, and I have the Herc GTXP on the way...

Ah, here you go....if you don't understand, feel free to E-mail me or PM me.

1.) Connect your front left and front right speakers using the standard Klipsch "green plug" to the Game Theater XP's break out box (plug it into the standard 1/8" "main/front" jack.
2.) Buy a 1/8" stereo to stereo Y-adaptor and connect the Klipsch "purple plugs" (AKA the surround plug) to the Y-adaptor. Plug that puppy into the break out box's 1/8" "surround" jack.
3.) Buy a 1/8" to 1/8" adapter (NOTE: BOTH ENDS MUST BE FEMALE ON THE ADAPTER FOR THIS TO WORK).
4.) Buy a 1/8" to RCA jack Y-adaptor.
5.) Now, you will connect the second "green plug" (AKA the front speaker Klipsch plug ---> AKA CENTER CHANNEL) to one
end of the 1/8" to 1/8" adapter. Plug in the 1/8" to RCA jack Y-adaptor into the other end of the 1/8" to 1/8"
adapter. Now, plug the RCA "RED plug" from the 1/8" to RCA jack Y-adpator to the subwoofer jack of the break out box
and plug the RCA "white plug" into the break out box's center channel plug.

There you go!! Use PowerDVD 3.0 or whatever allows you to use 6 speaker functionality. If it's PowerDVD, enable the "Dolby
ProLogic 4/6 speaker decoder". Watch your DVD...you can use the system tray volume control to control your center channel and your front and surround speakers all independently!!

Have fun. Watching DVDs has never been so much fun. Now, when Hercules releases a driver that lets us use virtual 5.1 processing......

Yeah, that was similar to how I hooked it up to my AE but it would screw up the center channel. I finally just connected both fronts to the front channel and both rears to the rear channel and it works well because of how they are all placed. Thanks for the detail, I will keep that in mind when I hook up the GTXP. 🙂

Sweet. Rock on brother!! DAMN--Klipsch offically released their 5.1 speaker system with 500W RMS power and 2 8" woofers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But still less than our 800W RMS 4 6" woofers, right?

Yeah I heard about their 5.1 setup..it looks to be very nice. I think I am all set for awhile with 8 sats and 2 subs...
