"Iraq broke down relations completely," said Zlobin, adding that the Russian people turned quickly on Americans when the United States led a coalition to invade Iraq despite its failure to get a U.N. resolution, which Russia opposed. "It's become a state policy to hate Americans."

Were the Russians ever really our friends? We have Israel as a true and loyal friend. That should be enough.

Anyway, Russia was never truly a friend but we were at peace with them. We're on a slippery slope back to tension and, who knows, violence? Time to nip it in the bud.

"back to tension" implies there was a time period without tension.

Good job, Bush. Good job.
What an asshat we have as a President. See what non-thinking ideologues do when they run the show?

See what blind hatred does? Makes you not think and just spew insults.

Wrong.
I'm a moderate that leans to being a Republican. I've seen the light by having an open mind and not toeing any party line.
It's obvious how Bush has worked to destroy our country. I can't remember a time when we've been more polarized. Maybe right after Vietnam but I was only 9 or so when that finally ended so I don't really remember the political thoughts then.

Why EU? EU is a competetor to the US.
Well saidThis is where diplomacy comes in. And, sadly, this administration lacks any. Well, Colin Powell could have done great things but the hawks and ideologues pretty much snuffed him out.

I'm sure Colin Powell would have been able to reverse 2000+ years of hatred in the Muslim community. I mean, there has pretty much never been any hatred of violence in the past 2000 years in the Middle East.. Pretty much all of it started when Bush took office. Up until then, the Middle East lived in peace with itself and its neighbors.

What kind of hatred, specifically, was there in the Middle East for the past 2000+ years?
