Lord of the Rings Star Viggo Mortensen is rumoured to play the villain(rumoured to be R'as Al Ghul and/or the Scarecrow) in the new Batman movie. Katie Holmes is also rumoured to play Batman's new love interest in the movie which, if the villain is indeed R'as Al Ghul, will more than likely be his daughter Talia R'as Al Ghul. Some interesting quotes from the article:
Caine said Nolan's Batman script creates a deeper role for Alfred than previous films. "We start when Batman is a baby, so I'm more like a father," Caine said in an interview. "I'm a father who knows how to lay a table with the knives and forks in the right places."

    Michael Caine has been cast for the role of Alfred Pennyworth
    Christopher Nolan (director of Memento and Insomnia) will be directing
    There are no ties to the previous movies
    Cillian Murphy (star of 28 Days Later) is set to be cast as one of the villains
    No one will be able to play the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman better than Christian Bale. NO ONE. Just watch American Psycho if you don't believe me
Rumours:
  • The movie will be called Batman: Intimidation
    Production is set to begin April 2004 and the movie is planned to be released on July 4th, 2005 🙁
    If the rumour of Scarecrow and R'as Al Ghul is true, then Scarecrow will only have a small role in the beginning of the movie

Sounds interesting, I think Christian Bale will make a MUCH better batman then George 🙂 Hopefully they don't go too much into character development, I want fighting and LOTS of it!

That's stupid. You're stupid. The main apeal is all about the character development. If you want cool fight scenes, go watch Spiderman or Daredevil or something

Yeah they we're pretty good although I liked the 2nd one better. I find myself always watching it a couple of times per week since my 3 year old brother watches it about 4 times a day. All he does is watch Batman 2.

Batman Returns is awesome, but nothing tops Jack in the original. NO ONE!!!

I thought that was the rumor floating around about Aronofsky's Batman, not Nolan's. Has it officially been declared debunked?

Yeah...this is the one I really want to watch. You'll know that Aronofsky is gonna make it dark as hell - how the real Batman is supposed to be. If this movie is junked, I'm gonna go cry 🙁
