New Batman Movie Gets Title: The Dark Knight Rises

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Director Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie will be called "The Dark Knight Rises," he told the Los Angeles Times.

Though the director kept everything else about the next installment, due in theaters in 2012, close to the vest, he did let out one hint on the villain for fanboys: "It won't be The Riddler."

"We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones," Nolan cryptically told the paper.

Nolan said Warner Bros. agrees with his decision to opt for high-definition and Imax cameras over 3D. The previous release in the Batman franchise, 2008's "The Dark Knight" is the seventh highest-grossing film of all time.

This movie could be called 'The Worst Batman Movie Turd Ever Shat' and it will still be awesome as long as Nolan is directing.
 
Nolan has earned the right to be creative, I hope they introduce some new characters/villains instead of shoehorning in old ones that just wouldn't work in the particular batman universe he created.

LOL I was going to actually mention "Attack of the Clones" in my post but figured, it would derail everything 🙂

The Batman title is fine. In fact I think its perfect. I mean its clean, simple and to the point. It is what the movie will be about.
 
"Dark Knight Risen" would sound better.

Villian should be Maximilian Zeus. Its best they stay away from any of the villains with weird "superpowers". The previous batman movies already wore out any of the typical characters and just turned them into comic relief. Zeus could have his Olympians, but in this version they don't have super powers, just technology and delusions.
 
The first one was overrated any way because of that drug addict that killed himself. This one won't have that hype to stand on. Hopefully it fails miserably.

By the title it has been given, I am assuming this movie is about him... you know.... RISING

The Dark Knight was not overrated. It was a well written, superbly acted masterpiece.

The first one was actually the best. The second one, which you're referring to, was good, but not great. Ledger delivered an amazing performance but Bale was mediocre, the pacing was fucked up and they killed off Dent too early for really no reason.
