It looks cool but I can definitely wait until it gets cheap. Just beat Arkham Asylum on Sunday night and it was just ok, combat sucked, and boss fights sucked but the voice acting was awesome which is what really made the game for me.

The combat in AC will be much better. You can take on multiple opponents at once, use multiple counters at once, and use gadgets in combat. Probably some other things too.

This game, a long with the Witcher 2 and Rage are my most anticipated games of this year. :D

Anyone know if Arkham City will use PhysX?

Will this be more open world than story driven?

I hope so, and it looks like it. Since it's a city where criminals are basically running rampant it seems like there's always stuff you can break up on the streets, and then there's probably story missions in buildings and at certain points in the city. I'm not sure it'll completely open, but it seems like it should be and wouldn't hurt the story much.

I just hope they tone down the combat a bit. Watching my brother play, he takes on 30-40 guys and beats them all; it's a bit ridiculous even for a comic book character.

Yea that was my main gripe about the first.

I really did enjoy searching for the Riddler riddles. They were fun and I can see people going back to get them all.

I'm betting more like Mafia II, which isn't a terrible thing.

The combat system in Batman AA is the best of any hack n slash/beat em up game I've played. It doesn't have a retarded amount of combos like Bayonetta, just enough diversity to keep it interesting. You can't appreciate the depth to the free flow combat until you've 100% the challenge mode. Most people will probably beat the game before moving on to the challenges, I did, but I wish I would've done it the other way around.

I don't particularly like the character batman, but I liked the game, and I like the new movies.

Or play on the higher difficulties, where there's a lot less time and visual clues to let you know to counter. You really have to be in a flow and paying attention to everybody.

I thought the combat sucked but that's just me.

if you have time, watch ign's rewind of the trailer. they point out a lot of little things throughout the new trailer that you wouldn't catch without watching it 10+ times.

Cool breakdown by the guys at IGN. I'm not a big enough fan of the Batman series to have a clue about 99% of what they're talking about, but cool to see all the little things they were able to recognize.

It was ok, but the best hack and slash controls in my opinion will always be the god of war games. So much depth to how you can build combo's in those games.
