New Auction Seller... How Should I Ship?

Hey everyone,

I know there must be many experienced ebayers on here and I've finally decided to take the plunge and sell a bunch of old stuff. I'm going to start with my old video game collection that's been collecting dust for the last few years. Mainly Nintendo/SNES/N64 games.

I was told by a friend that I should get a large packet of bubble envelopes from Staples or somewhere similar and then just take it to the Post Office and they'll stamp it for me. This sounds reasonable, but does anyone have more information or alternative solutions? How much does this cost?

As far as shippers goes, the ATOT concencus is as follows:

UPS: Is suck
FedEx: Are suck
USPS: Sucks
Airborne: Suck

My advice since you are a newb is to go USPS priority since you can get free materials. Bubble envelopes work alright. There are less expensive alternatives. FedEx padded paks work well.

If you start moving to heavier items or stuff that needs big insurance (IMO $300+) consider going with a larger carrier. USPS insurance is horribly overpriced.

FEDEX... even though that are b1tches about delievering packages earlly, i've never had problems with late, stolen or borken items.

Free Materials? Do you mean the envelope? The would be cool, I wouldn't have to go pay for them at Staples.

Get your bubble envelopes from BubbleFast.com!!! They ROCK! :Q Cheap prices and awesome service. That's how I would send your old video games. They're how I sold mine, some DVDs, and some network cables too.

Get a postal scale, or at least borrow one, and see what the weights are. If it's no more than 10 ounces total, it's worth getting bubble envelopes and mailing them first class, with electronic delivery confirmation. If the weight goes above that, use priority mail (free delivery confirmation and supplies offsets the costs).
