fixed my problem with NFS:U, I am a happy camper.

What problem? I'm thinking of playing this game.

black screen after completion of first race.. move onto next race after completing one and screen would be black. would have to restart and go again.

this driver update fixed that 🙂

It's best to wait for the latest Omega drivers . . .

What are the omega drivers? And why are they better?

Repacked ATI drivers, sometimes mix and matched between versions, with edited install scripts to enable different options. So, they are not necessarily better but just different by default.

Does anyone know if you need to remove RadClocker before you install drivers? Maybe that's why my installs always bite the dust.

Dunno, but I use the OC component of Rage3D Tweak and always leave it installed without problem clean uninstalling and installing drivers.

What model card are you using? I'm using 9700 pro, and the game was crashing on me last week, but for some reason it has stopped(I think some settings were set too high).

Well... ati says it needs sp1 so I would imagine that it will not work without it. Why wouldn't you have it though.

This is not so. Terry Makedon, the head of the Catalyst driver team has publicly stated the following regarding SP1 as a system requirement:
"That is the configuration we recommend and do our testing on. Dont mean that nothing else wont work"
