New Apple Store in Midtown, NYC

I don't get why they would make a store in that location always open...it's a dead neighborhood after 7pm.

Lots of tourists are always around here.

Maybe during the day, but at night, all there is are tourists headed back to hotels on CPS. I don't see too many of them stopping in the Apple Store at 4am.

Genius Bar: You've got a project due tomorrow and its 3 AM. Your computer stops working. You can run to the Apple Store for repairs. Just one example, of course.

i was going to go there for grand opening but i think it'll be too packed. might pass by next week on my lunch break or something.

btw, looks cool from the pictures

What are you talking about?

A reason for someone to go to the Apple store in the middle of the night.

I was really talking about the poor choice of location for a 24hr store, not that it won't be used at all.

Of course there will be some people who come in in the middle of the night, and kudos to Apple for keeping it open for them, even if after the first couple month of midnight gawkers you get 3 or 4 people in a night between 11pm and 7am. Think about that...an entire shift that you pay to sit around doing next to nothing. Sh1t...I should apply for a second job there.

I guess this falls into the same category as iPod vending machines to me...

So you're going to go at 3AM?
If it was medically proven that iPods and MacBooks instantly cure cancer, I was suddenly diagnosed with testicular cancer of such an aggressive nature that I would be dead within the next 45 minutes, AND I was armed with only my trusty unlimited MetroCard?

No.

People whose macs break while typing a paper and cannot fix it but a person at the 'genious bar' can, deserve what ever comes to them.. The only thing that could possibly fogive these individuals would be if it was hardware failure which a person at the 'genious bar' obviously can't fix in a decent amount of time so it doesn't matter anyways..

It'll probably stay open 24-hrs for a short time, and then quietly drop back to 9-6.

It's actually a great store to put in that location. The 24-hrs thing is just for publicity. Unless they have a lot of spare money to waste.
