As much as you'll disagree with me, there is no known exploit, it's most likely someone playing a trick on you. Sorry if that isn't comforting, but perhaps you shouldn't talk about confidential things over the net. I have run out of options for you my friend.

further read finds aim is still vunerable to it old buffer overflow flaw.

I believe this is on my friends side and eventually got to me.
 
one of my buddies mentioned something like that... that somebody came and started saying all these conversations that he'd had before (conversations my buddy had had), and must have been logged somewhere.

No it isn't. Packet sniffing is pretty common actually.
 
check and make sure the email address you have registered to your sn is an email you own and rotate the password on it. Oldest trick in the book, search for gibberish @hotmail.com, create a hotmail acct there and have AOL mail you your password. Also, change your AIM password.

If you have someone else's password, you can log in, jot down a buddy list, then glean information from the people on the buddy list with away msgs, profiles, etc.
