Latest news on CNN. Huge anti-American protests on the streets of Pakistan. I guess they realize that there will soon be Military action coming.

Yeah, it seems the Pakistani people are siding with the religious fundamentalists and not the govt. Pakistan's govt realizes they need us for all kinds of stuff. i think they are doing what they feel best for thier population.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) - Pro-Taliban religious parties held a second day of protests in Pakistan on Saturday, but opposition to President Pervez Musharraf's pledge to help the United States track down Osama bin Laden appeared to be waning.

Have I missed something?

Hmm......pretty obvious what's going on inside Pakistan isn't it??? I mean look at the facts..........there are probably just as many or more "extremests" in Pakistan as there are in Afghanistan.........difference being, the Pakistan Government wants them out and siding with the US virtually guarantees that if there is a problem, the US will just help eliminate it! They have voiced their concerns with that "element" causing problems inside Pakistan and now, they have a way to improve their status and eliminate the problem in one fail swoop!

Hmm, this is not good. If Pakistan should fall into the hands of this element, the US and it's Allies will have to reconsider their plans. Remember that Pakistan has nuclear weapons! The Pakistani government needs the backing of the US and Allies now. Without that help the whole "War on Terrorism" will be seriously setback.

The problem is that the Citizens have no choice! They are indoctrinated from birth and it's nothing a few well placed bombs won't cure....

Its a problem not a few bombs can cure I must say. It is so complicated that I dont even know how to say it :) You might kill them 'physically', but you cannot kill them 'mentally'. They have been in war for decades... and I bet most of the people in there are tired of it. You think they havent been bombed? Well basically they continously bombed for the past years.

That may have seemed extreme, but we only see what their Government, a very loose term as they have no Government as we know it, allow what they allow us to see. Where are the newsreels of the millions of refugees? You will not see the abject poverty those folks endure. The word freedom does not have a meaning.....but it will....

The stuff you see on CNN of theprotests is from a small population of refugees in the northern part of Pakistan and they number only about 50,000 out of a population of 140,000,000 Pakastani Muslums. The leadership of Pakistan presumes less than 15% of the population are against the policy to help the Americans go after Osama.

Anyone who views these film clips of flag burning and assumes that is the mood in Pakistan are not doing their homework or are apoligists for the Taliban.

Do the math. This is just a blip on the radar screen. We will have troops staged in Pakistan in a week. And we will fight side by side with the Pakistan Army to maintain civil control of the country and its border with Afghanistan.

Exactly, the media needs to really research before releasing footage of people burning flags and protesting. This kind of coverage can only make things worse for the millions of Islamics in the US. There is a local gas station here that is run but a family of Sikhs. They have been the target of hate crimes since the 11th. It is a shame for these people. They are now displaying "Old Glory" on thier gas pumps, but it appears that there are fewer cars lined up at their pumps. I will go out of my way to gas up and show them support. We all need to work together.
