New AMD question / FIC AN11 MOBO ?

I just dove into the Fry's Combo: XP 1700+ CPU and FIC AN11 Motherboard.

The motherboard was basically free and I don't plan on overclocking at the moment. Will this mobo handle my gaming needs for now?
Or should I spring $100 for an epox etc.. ?

The AN11 is a good board, it will overclock a little, not great. Has a lot of features on board too. I almost bought one instead of the A7V266E

Thanks for the reply, is there any other reason, other than low potential for overclocking, to get a better mobo?

also: Should I wipe my HD before installing the new mobo?

Is a 5400 rpm HD that much slower than a 7200 rpm HD? I have an extra HD from the BB Turkey day sale, was thinking about just loading up a clean OS on that instead.

Thanks!

I would use a 7200 rpm, and I always reformat on new installs.

Just overclocking is the only reason to upgrade, the FIC is a lot better then the epox for options though.

I got one at Fry's too, the guy suggested the Chrome Orb fan heatsink, which didn't fit. Went to Compusa and got one of their storebrand for $20, its bigger and it fits.
Looks like this board doesn't support 5 speaker systems, or can it with some adapter? Guess my SB live value will stay with me.
I just used the factory bios settings, any reason why I would change them, or flash newer ones? Thanks in advance.
