Installed without issues. Everything's running great (don't care about idle clocks, modified my BIOS so the card behaves like I want it to). MLAA-treated text looks slightly sharper compared to 11.1a which is good. MLAA is so awesome and now we can enjoy it using WHQL drivers on HD5xxx series!

Has 11.2 fixed the mouse corruption/flicker in the systray area for anyone?

I remember reading there was a mouse lagging issue as well. I hope these things are fixed.

Never heard of this. Were there any threads here on it?

Google it. I cant remember the exact site but you will get results. Anyways Im not sure they still do this. Im just hoping they are not gonna try pulling Nvidia's dirty driver setting tricks again. I used to refuse to buy Nvidia cards till AMD started getting just as dirty.

I didn't ask for a source to find if they ever did it before, I asked to see if they were doing it with recent catalysts.

To my knowledge they stopped doing ever since like cat 10.9.

Im surprised you are the only person who mentions this. Maybe other members should check it out.

Does anyone here make use of the Image Scaling?
I can't seem to get it to use 'Maintain Aspect Ratio'. The last driver I used was 10.4. If I set the screen resolution lower than the monitor default I could make this selection and it would keep the setting when reverting back to the preferred resolution. Now it always sets 'Scale Image to full panel size' if I run the monitors preferred res.

Anyone experience this ?

If it's the first time you're running MLAA then yes. Do a reboot. The difference for text is minor now, mostly visible on the Steam overlay. But it's night and day compared to how it looked on 10.10e's.

And why people don't mention it? I don't know. Maybe most just read that "it blurs stuff so it sucks!" and probably don't even try it? The difference it makes in some games is amazing though, so I would encourage people to try it! And now that HD57xx also have it (first time, wasn't possible on the older hotfixes), more people can try it out :)

Couldn't agree more with the underlined part. I tried it for the first time not too long ago....and I am unsure what the fuss about "blurriness" is. Games I have tried it in, look great imo.

Unsure for the first, I haven't had that happen.
For the 2nd, nope, not fixed.

For those that don't know, on the upper right corner of the screen, if you move the mouse in that area, you get some mouse lag, and it affects other things as well.

The complaints I had read about mouse lagging were from [H] and it was usually around the top right area of the desktop.

Guess it still exists. It doesn't happen for me in 10.10e so that's what I'll stick to.

The systray area flicker/corruption was posted at several locations although I cannot confirm if Anandtech was one of them.

I dont have that mouse lag issue, or simply havnt noticed before.

Maybe its related to multiscreen setups, when you drag mouse egde of screen to go to next one?. Anyways I dont use more than 1 monitor, and I dont notice any mouse lag.

Any need to get these drivers for a 5870 owner? I'm still running 10.8 set. I've tried newer ones but they have dramatically hurt performance, so I just end up going back to 10.8.

MLAA is an interesting feature. Does great things for IQ but after seeing it on The Witcher and Crysis I'm a little ambivalent about how it changes text appearance. Edge-smoothing but a bit more blurred, especially if the text is moving since it's a dynamic application (ex. Witcher field labels).

MLAA didn't work so well in the things I've tried. It causes static huds to constantly shift around by a pixel. One frame its here, the next, up a pixel, the next down 2 pixels, the next back to where it's supposed to be, and so on.

The MLAA alone is worth it :) Give them a go.

Ok, I was a MLAA hater since it was implemented and I tried them on every drivers since it was released and since I got my 6850.

I read this thread and like some suggested, I did a reboot.

I'm now sold...well for the most part.
-Civ5 text is blurry and not that nice on the game overall.
-Tried it in Singularity, it's nice.
-On FNV it's cool too (last time it was all blurrry and down right ugly).
-MLAA's doing a great job in Two Worlds 2.
-Rift open beta it looks ok but text a little blurry.
-Looking really great in Dragon Age Awakening.
-Dawn of War 2 look good with it but the dude on the in-game starting menu has some glitches (sections of his armor are all black including face)

That's it for now...debating if I leave it on or put it off. Don't feel like activate/deactivate at the start of every games...

You could try using RadeonPro to set individual profiles. I've not had a chance to test with the new drivers (last I installed was 10.4 ) but I don't imagine there will be issues.

Oh cool i'm gonna check that, thanks!

EDIT: Ok, finally turned it off this morning after going through some games to see if a good night's sleep would benefit my perception...but I thought it still looked too much blurry for my taste. Not just text but many elements in games like moving vegetation and far objects...sometimes it really nice looking others it's completely meh...

I'm on the fence about this feature...
