it's gonna suck. the director of this movie has only written and directed two movies, both of which are completely off anyone's radar.

noob

In July 2009 20th Century Fox announced that the studio had hired Jon Spaihts to write a prequel to Alien, with Scott attached to direct.

eh shoots aliens and doesn't afraid of anyone

I don't know why I felt compelled to quote this, but the English is so bad I thought it deserved preservation.

How is a babby alien formed?

What a silly question. Everyone knows this.

I posted this info on the forum already. You have an old link. The director is going to be Ridley Scott-the director of the original Alien movie.

Yep. I've never seen Aliens or any of the subsequent movies, but Alien was great and with Scott attached and if they can do up a decent script, it may be worth watching.

KT

So far there are two, TWO good Alien movies. Alien and Aliens. 3 and 4 suck ass. Predator vs. Alien sucked too.

3 was ok and made sense, 4 was really pushing it, but a decent movie. AvP was good, but was a total stupid premise.

Um, see Aliens. It is not only one of the greatest sequels of all time, it's an absolutely top-notch action movie. Get the extended edition cut if you have a choice.

I'd love the idea of the story. I don't think we ever learned where the original ship came from or what it was doing there in the first one.
I used to read the comics... I can't for the life of me remember what happened but I'm positive they addressed the original ship in a story line. God I'm going to have to raid my parent's attic this weekend.
Yeah, it was addressed in the first B&W series of Aliens comics Dark Horse did. One of the dead alien's race shows up towards the end. I can't recall much beyond it either, have to dig out the books myself.

I really want to know what they think they're doing to do for this. Obviously we can't have the encounter that brought down the alien craft in the first place, no way Fox would spring for that kind of budget, and WTF kind of story would that be anyway.

So, what does that leave? A different crew picks up the signal in the first place, visits the planet, reenacts the first movie, but manages to get back successfully to the company (or at least a transmission or black box gets back) to give them enough info about the alien so they'll put Ash on board the Nostromo and divert it in the original movie? Seems retarded.

Hell, you'd have a better movie if you made Alien 1.5, chronicling the downfall of the colony on LV426 from the start of Aliens.

Sigourney weaver needs to be in any credible alien movie. She's pretty damn old now though...
2 options:
-CGI Ripley voiced by Weaver, or
-Clone Weaver, but run the risk of hybridization

Was it just me or did anyone else find alien Ripley oozing with teh hotness?

Well if it's a prequel and she first learns of them in the first movie then she doesn't need to be in it but of course they'll find a way to fit her in somehow.

This is what I hate about prequels in movies and books. They ALWAYS try to make clever references or cameos of characters from the original stories. It always comes off awkward and disrupts the story.

 fantastic

i hope it won't be mostly story and less action and suspense, though

Exciting, Im hoping for the suspense/horror of the first film... Too many random monster-action movies nowadays, we dont need another one

I would have to agree with you there. 3 and up didn't quite capture the imagination as the first two in the slightest sense. But hell I'm still hoping they'd remake the Doom movie into a horror flick.
