New Album The White Stripes - Elephant

Any fans out there or people just looking for a great rocking album should get this CD.
It is a great throw back rock album recorded in a studio with all pre-1963 gear. Sounds
great! You think your listening to new Zeppelin material on some tracks. Also kinda reminds
of some great Rolling Stones music, but the music is all his own and the lyrics are great too.
If you think the soul of Rock n' Roll has been vacant on the music scene lately, pickup this album!

Haven't had a chance to get the new album, but hopefully it's an improvement over their first album...it was nice at first, and yeah, you think classic-rock (Zeppelin), but they didn't have enough of their own sound for me....good for a few listens, but it got old after a few revolutions.

Guess we'll see how Elephant is

I went to go buy it today from Best Buy..and they were completely sold out (had 350 on order)..so I went to Circuit City and they were sold out...

So now I guess I gotta wait a few days until BB gets it back in stock...blah.

On the album Jack plays Bass in some songs.

i don't like the band. his voice is annoying and the stuff they play sucks.

There was one song on that disc I really enjoyed, the rest of it was so so. I don't see it being detestable by any means though, I've found so many people that hate this band with a passion that exceeds the staus quo even for career elitists, maybe I just don't hear something they do.

I like the band... seen too many flame wars regarding the liking of this band. At least the statements have been of the
opinionated type and not the "such and such sucks" or "so and so sucks" (since music is not always about chops).

Just got the new album..

To me, their last album was just golden, so this one's a bit more disappointing, but maybe becuase it's not as catchy as the last one, so it'll take time.

The lyrics last one stand out much more, and most songs followed a straight route. "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" sounded a lot like "I'm Finding it Harder to be a Gentleman" and "I Can't Wait" and I really enjoyed "Dead Leaves."

Rolling Stone raved about this album like a madman in their review too, and gave it 5 stars (I've rarely ever seen 5 stars for a new album, 5 stars are usually reserved for the re-release of those classic albums)

"Seven Nation Army," however, fscking rocks.
